Job Description:
Overview
We are seeking an experienced SQL Developer / Database Engineer with 6–10 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and managing both SQL and NoSQL databases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building scalable database schemas, optimizing performance, and supporting DBA activities including backup, recovery, and migrations.
Key Responsibilities
Database Design & Development
- Design and develop robust database schemas for both relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases.
- Translate business requirements into efficient data models and database structures.
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and normalization.SQL Development & Query Optimization
- Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks using indexing, query tuning, and execution plan analysis.
- Perform database performance tuning and optimization.
NoSQL Database Management
- Work with NoSQL technologies (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
- Design schema-less or flexible data models for high scalability and performance.
- Optimize data retrieval and storage strategies.
DBA Activities
- Perform regular database maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Manage backup and recovery processes to ensure data reliability.
- Handle database migrations, upgrades, and patching across environments.
- Monitor database health, availability, and security.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 6–10 years of experience in SQL development and database engineering.
- Strong expertise in relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle).
- Hands-on experience with at least one NoSQL database.
Deep knowledge of: (Query optimization and execution plans, Indexing strategies, Database tuning techniques
- Experience in DBA activities: (Backup and recovery, Replication, High availability setups)
- Proven experience in database migration projects.
- Strong understanding of data modeling and schema design.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is preferred.
