Head of Digital Transformation
Job Description:
Our client in the Energy sector is seeking to hire a strategic and business-focused Head of Digital Transformation to lead and drive the organization's digital agenda. Reporting directly to the Group Managing Director, the successful candidate will act as the key link between business functions, operational teams, and IT, ensuring that digital initiatives are aligned with corporate strategy and deliver measurable business value.
The role will be responsible for defining, prioritizing, and overseeing the organization's digital transformation portfolio while fostering innovation, operational efficiency, and sustainable adoption of digital solutions across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnership & Strategic Alignment
- Act as the primary point of contact for all digital transformation initiatives across the organization.
- Partner with executive leadership and business units to understand strategic priorities, operational challenges, and transformation needs.
- Translate business requirements into structured digital initiatives and actionable transformation plans.
- Ensure alignment between digital initiatives and overall business objectives.
- Provide strategic guidance on opportunities for digital innovation, automation, and process optimization.
Digital Transformation Roadmap
- Support the development and execution of the organization's digital transformation strategy and roadmap.
- Identify and prioritize initiatives that improve efficiency, customer experience, and business performance.
- Drive continuous evaluation of emerging technologies and digital trends to support future business growth.
- Ensure digital investments are aligned with organizational goals and expected outcomes.
Portfolio Management & Governance
- Establish and manage a portfolio of digital transformation initiatives.
- Evaluate and prioritize projects based on business value, risk, feasibility, and resource availability.
- Prepare executive reports, business cases, and governance materials for leadership and steering committees.
- Monitor portfolio performance, resource allocation, budgets, and benefits realization.
Digital Project & Program Leadership
- Lead cross-functional digital transformation programs from concept through implementation and adoption.
- Define project objectives, governance structures, milestones, and success metrics.
- Coordinate internal stakeholders, IT teams, external vendors, and implementation partners.
- Monitor delivery timelines, budgets, risks, and quality standards.
- Ensure projects achieve intended business outcomes and measurable value.
Change Management & User Adoption
- Drive organizational change management activities related to digital transformation initiatives.
- Develop communication, engagement, and adoption strategies to ensure successful implementation.
- Coordinate training programs and user enablement initiatives.
- Measure adoption rates, business impact, and return on investment for implemented solutions.
Governance, Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Lead and facilitate IT Steering Committee meetings and governance forums.
- Ensure digital initiatives comply with company policies, regulatory requirements, cybersecurity standards, and data protection guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with IT, cybersecurity, risk, audit, and compliance teams.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with digital transformation programs.
- Support internal and external audits where applicable.
Continuous Improvement & Digital Culture
- Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Capture lessons learned and implement best practices across digital initiatives.
- Enhance transformation methodologies, governance frameworks, and delivery approaches.
- Champion digital adoption and foster a value-driven transformation mindset across the organization.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Digital Transformation, Technology Management, or related discipline is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 8–12 years of relevant experience in Digital Transformation, Business Transformation, Technology Strategy, Program Management, or Business-IT Leadership roles.
- Proven track record of leading enterprise-wide transformation initiatives and complex cross-functional projects.
- Experience engaging with senior executives, leadership teams, and governance committees.
- Exposure to large-scale digitalization, automation, enterprise applications, and business process improvement programs.
- Experience within energy, manufacturing, telecommunications, financial services, FMCG, or other complex operational environments will be an advantage.
