As the business continues to invest in technology to improve efficiency, strengthen business intelligence, and support commercial growth, they are seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead their technology function.
Reporting to the Managing Director / Finance Director, the IT Manager will provide both strategic and operational leadership across the organization's IT infrastructure, business intelligence, and technical support functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of enterprise systems while driving continuous improvement across infrastructure, business applications, and analytics.
Job Purpose:
The IT Manager will oversee and drive the strategic coordination of the company's IT infrastructure, data analytics systems, and technical support operations. The role holder will ensure zero downtime, robust network security, and flawless asset management. Beyond maintaining daily technical stability, this role serves as a strategic catalyst: leading a dedicated team of three, critically evaluating current IT delivery posture, identifying operational gaps against changing business needs, and leveraging advanced business intelligence toolsets to power data-driven commercial decisions. Crucially, the role holder will Lead business-critical projects; specifically managing Sales Force Automation (SFA) systems built around SAP architectures to streamline business operations and efficiency.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Infrastructure & Operations Management
- Oversee the maintenance, licensing, security, and optimization of all enterprise Windows and SQL Server environments, supporting continuous operations.
- Deploy, monitor, and configure all localized enterprise network devices (Managed and unmanaged network switches) and commercial-grade secure wireless access points.
- Manage the deployment and upkeep of business-critical peripherals, ensuring scanners and invoice printers run seamlessly.
- Maintain absolute integrity of the endpoint environment through comprehensive management of Windows 10/11 desktops and Microsoft 365 productivity suites as well as security products.
2. SFA & SAP Project Delivery
- Manage the full project lifecycle (scoping, UAT, deployment and maintenance) for Sales Force Automation (SFA) systems.
- Ensure robust, seamless middleware integration and data synchronization workflows between SFA endpoints and the core SAP ERP environment (e.g. price books, inventory balances, master data and sales order processing).
- Collaborate closely with external SAP and Infrastructure consultants, developers and vendors to ensure project delivery is timely, within scope.
3. Strategic Improvements & Business Alignment
- Conduct frequent structured evaluations of current IT support delivery models to implement automation, remove bottlenecks, and lower resolution times.
- Partner directly with department heads to identify functional technology gaps, translating FMCG business requirements into scalable technical initiatives.
- Evaluate modern, emerging technological tools and present cost-justified business cases to corporate stakeholders to upgrade legacy infrastructure.
4. Analytics & Business Intelligence
- Build, maintain, and continuously refine unified data mining models that extract data from ERP, supply chain, SFA, and retail sales software ecosystems.
- Design and distribute visual dashboards using Power BI and Qlik, highlighting key FMCG trends such as inventory turnover, sales velocity, fleet route compliance, and logistics efficiency.
5. Team Leadership & Governance
- Cultivate a cohesive, high-achieving IT support unit by managing a team of three technical engineers, assigning clear targets, and tracking development.
- Establish SLA standards for internal support requests, ensuring issues are prioritized and resolved with minimal impact on business continuity.
- Enforce strict internal IT security policies, data backup compliance protocols, and standard disaster recovery routines across the entire company network.
Job Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure/operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership role managing technical staff, ideally within an FMCG, manufacturing, retail, or logistics environment.
- Project Expertise: Proven track role delivering at least one full-lifecycle Sales Force Automation (SFA) or retail execution system rollout integrated directly into an SAP ERP back-end.
- Certifications (Highly Valued): PMP/PRINCE2, Microsoft Certified: Enterprise Administrator, MCSA/MCSE, Cisco CCNA, Power BI Data Analyst Associate, or ITIL Foundation.
Key Result Areas (KRAs):
- IT Operations & Service Delivery Excellence: Ensure 99.9% uptime of core infrastructure, including Windows servers, SQL databases, networks, and end-user peripherals across head office, warehouses, and regional hubs.
- SFA & SAP Project Management: Lead the end-to-end lifecycle, rollout, and post-go-live stabilization of Sales Force Automation (SFA) solutions deeply integrated with SAP back-end architectures to optimize sales execution and route-to-market intelligence.
- Strategic Process Optimization & Tech Roadmap: Continuously analyze existing IT delivery models. Proactively propose, design and implement system upgrades to technology and workflows that boost operational efficiency, lower long-term overheads, and eliminate processing friction.
- Business Need Alignment & Gap Analysis: Partner across cross-functional departments (Sales, Finance, HR) to systematically diagnose gaps between daily operational needs and technological realities, tailoring IT capabilities to scale with market demand.
- Business Intelligence & Data Capitalization: Architect and sustain enterprise data mining pipelines. Convert multi-channel FMCG datasets into actionable, crystal-clear visual reporting matrices using Power BI and Qlik to empower immediate leadership decisions.
- Team Leadership, Mentorship & Talent Architecture: Manage, coach, and review a team of three IT professionals. Cultivate a high-performance, customer-centric support culture through clear accountability, professional development, and KPI alignment.
- IT Asset & Peripheral Infrastructure Management: Supervise deployment, routine lifecycle updates, security compliance, and maintenance of all hardware assets, including print servers, scanners, and distributed wireless access points.
